ULTRA BRAWL RESULTS IN CHAMPIONSHIP CONTROVERSY!
As the events unfolded at Ultra Brawl, the entire EUWC roster filled the ring
and did battle with each other. In the process, EUWC Champion Hawkeye and
World Heavyweight Champion Nero were injured. No amount of EUWC referees
or officials could contain the action and all control of the Main Event was
lost. In the melee that ensued, Matt Pickstock snatched up both title
belts and escaped from Houston Texas with them.
Since then, it has been discovered that the EUWC Board of Directors has ordered
Pickstock to relinquish the belts to them. At this point it is unclear who would
have emerged victorious in the Unification Championship match, but one must
assume that the titles will be returned to their rightful owners and a rematch
would take place, right?
WRONG!
According to EUWC Attorney Michael Colin Briggs, the Board of Directors have
declared the EUWC World Heavyweight Championship and the EUWC Championship
Vacant. Briggs was then commissioned to announce that at the Chad Dupree
Memorial Cup event in just a few weeks the EUWC World Heavyweight Championship
would be awarded to the winner of a one-night sixteen man single elimination
tournament. Usually the winner of the prestigious tournament would receive
a title shot and his name on the Dupree Cup trophy. However, this year the
winner not only gets his name etched on the prestigious trophy, but will also be
declared the Undisputed EUWC World Heavyweight Champion.
As for the future of the EUWC Championship, Briggs was able to tell
EUWC.FWRESTLING.COM that the title was now defunct. In addition to that,
the Board of Directors has voted that neither Main Frame nor Blackout will stick
around, and that EUWC Monday Night Brawl will house both brands under one roof
from here on out. That's right folks, the roster split has ended.
Briggs would continue on saying that now there would be one World Champion and
one set of World Tag Team Champions. The EUWC World Tag team Champions
Daymon & Dan Ryan would continue on with those belts, and their EUWC Tag Team
Titles would be declared defunct. As for the four under-card
Championships, only two would survive the year. While he didn't mention a
date, Briggs did say that there would be two Unification matches in the future
to determine which under-card Championships will remain and thus the others
would be named defunct.
This is huge news! As for the tournament participants....
Briggs stated that all he could do was tell us that the sixteen superstars will
be named in 24 hours and featured here on EUWC.FWRESTLING.COM Sunday nigh Oct 14
at 6:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time... |
